This was probably one of my first really chunky heavy reads. I was about 14 at the time and on holidays at Nelson Bay with my parents. I remember being totally absorbed, enjoying both my location and the book and talking about it with my parents. It was the first book I read that really made me think, and I loved it.
The Oath is a deep and scathing metaphore... what for I think everyone has to work out for themselves... and it really challenges the way you think and they way you view morality.
It's definitely a book I would read again and again over the course of my life.
