"A good novel tells us the truth about its hero; a bad novel tells us the truth about its author." - GK Chesterson
For me this is what says it all about this particular novel. I didn't feel any particular depth to any of the characters, but instead saw a wealth of clichés and generics that made the whole book just seemed thrown together and revealed more about the authors that about any of the characters.
It was easy to read, but many books are. I wouldn't read any more in this series.
And one last point: Spelling the word vampire "vampyre" does not make your idea suddenly unique. It just makes it annoying.
