In general, I'm not a big fan of books that combine the supernatural with a murder mystery. I didn't like the first Sookie Stackhouse book and I had to really push myself to get through the first Jim Butcher.
Having send that, this book was just so funny it was worth it. It takes about 50 pages to get into, but once you know the characters everything just comes alive.
I'm not a big fan of romance novels either, though in this book I found it was the romance that pulled me through to the end. Without it I might of merely given up.
While I enjoyed Soulless, it's going on my bookshelf as one to lend to others... not to re-read. It's funny, but it's not that funny.
