I can't believe it has taken me all these years to start on the Narnia series. It was probably because as a young child I watch the bbc television series and I've always found that I can't read a book if I've seen the movie first. I'm happy to say that it doesn't seem that this trait applies if the book is EXCELLENT.
C.S. Lewis has a wonderful imagination and a wicked sense of humor. His characters are rich and his worlds, though fantastic, are steeped in a different kind of reality. A deeper one.
It was wonderful to discover the beginnings of Narnia and how the lamppost came to be, and how the wardrobe came to be, and even how Narnia itself came to be. An adventure of the epic kind.
