I was so looking forward to reading this second instalment and when I first picked it up I felt like I might be disappointed. The first section or so felt like more of the same with not a lot of development... and then everything changed. Once again I was thrust into the action and was unable to put it down.
Ellie is such a relateable character and there's something really engaging about teens achieving things that adults cannot. I love the human experiences that shine through and I love more than anything the way these books make me think... about war, religion, politics and my own strengths and capabilities.
Can't wait to read the third.
