The Magician's Apprentice

The Magician's Apprentice - Trudi Canavan This was the first Trudi Canavan book I read, it was on special in Kmart and the first couple of paragraphs really pulled me in. I found this book incredibly intriguing and expertly written. It surprised me how much I enjoyed following the war and watching it develop from all angles. I also loved each of the characters, I'd love for there to be a sequal to this prequal that's set in the same time just after the war, though I don't know if it would really work as we know what happens for the most part.
But, really really excellent book. Top notch.
